The Fendi brand was started in 1918 by Adele Casagrande as a leather and fur store in Rome. It was renamed when she married Eduardo Fendi. As they became more successful, they also included their five daughters- Paola, Carla, Anna, Franca and Alda.
In the 1960s they merged with Karl Lagerfeld, who is credited with designing the famous FF design as well as their first fur collections.
Fendi recently merged with Prada and Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey.
