Louis Vuitton began in 1854 and he quickly made a name as the world's premier source for extraordinary luggage, handbags and accessories.
Luggage history was made as the fledgling business rolled out it's new invention- the Louis Vuitton flat trunk. Even more important than the configuration of the trunk was it's cover- Louis Vuitton's signature grey Trianon canvas. Almost immediately the Trianon became synonymous with gracious travelling and elegance.
In 1872 the beautiful Louis Vuitton red and grey striped canvas debuted.
1888 saw the introduction of the Louis Vuitton Damier canvas. Surprisingly contempory, even today the Damier pairs a lively geometric pattern with subdued hues. The result is an elegance which has withstood the test of time for over 120 years.
In 1896 Louis Vuitton introduced the famous monogram canvas which is still as stylish today as it was then.
